Gifts for those hard to buy for people
It’s gift giving season, ugh. I know that’s a bit negative but thinking of present ideas for everyone can sometimes feel like a chore. Of course there are a whole lot of alternatives to actually buying presents, but if you’re set on buying and wrapping a gift but don’t want to buy ‘stuff’ just for the sake of it, then this is one of my fail safe ideas.
Photo gifts. When I’m stuck for a gift for family it’s my go-to. It works equally well for situations where you just want to get someone a little something, or you can go all out and turn it in to a piece of artwork. The great thing about photo gifts is that people generally really like them and they’re a lot less likely to end up in the bin 6 weeks post Christmas the way so many other things can.
Now if you thinking I’m talking about those chunky mugs or plastic keyrings you can get printed up at officeworks, don’t worry, that’s not what I’m suggesting!
Of course you can use whatever photo you like but one of you and the person you’re giving it to is going to be a winner. I also fall back on the grandchildren photo when giving to my parents and if you’re buying for a partner or friend then photos from your shared travels or pets are always a hit.
A gift voucher to one of these places also makes an excellent wedding or engagement present so the couple can choose their own photo.
So where do you go to get inspired and turn a photo into a piece of artwork or something you actually want to use? These three places are favourites of mine:
High quality, all about the photo, here in Adelaide. Order online.
